The ADF faces fast-moving and sophisticated challenges.
It takes a network of platforms, sensors, and command and control to detect, deter, and defeat them.
21st Century Security is about taking the best of defence and commercial technology to make forces agile, adaptive, and unpredictable, so they stay ready for any mission – today and for decades to come.
All domains. All working together. For all of Australia.
As design pioneers of 5th generation platforms like F-35 and Aegis, we have the experience to deliver a comprehensive, integrated view of the evolving operational environment.
From software, to hardware, to everywhere.
A 21st Century Security approach requires advanced, resilient communications capabilities that connect current and future assets with leading edge technology.
For the ADF, satellite communications are a vital capability, especially as it transforms into a force centred around advanced platforms with high bandwidth requirements utilised to support networked operations at greater distances. In short, the use of space has become a largely essential pre-requisite for many types of ADF contingency, especially those at the higher end of the war-fighting spectrum.
Under Defence project JP9102, Lockheed Martin Australia - Space is poised to deliver a sovereign military satellite communications system to the ADF.
Creating Sovereign Capability
In April 2022, Lockheed Martin Australia was selected as a Strategic Industry Partner in the development of the Australian Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise (the Enterprise). The announcement paves the way for Lockheed Martin Australia to work with Australian industry, academia and weapons suppliers to accelerate the delivery of sovereign guided weapons for Australia.
